See what percentage of US adults actually meet your dating standards. This free male and female delusion calculator uses US government data from the CDC and the Census Bureau. It takes about 30 seconds.
Entertainment tool. Estimates for US adults that treat each filter as independent. See the sources below.
What is the female delusion calculator?
The female delusion calculator (also searched as the female delusion test, and the male and female delusion calculator) shows how common your ideal partner is in real life. You enter standards such as age, height, income, education and body type. The tool multiplies the share of the population that meets each one and gives you a pool size and a score from 1 to 10. The idea spread online, including through the Fresh & Fit podcast. Men can use the same tool as a female delusion calculator for men or guys by choosing “Male”.
How the numbers are calculated
Each filter becomes the share of US adults who meet it. Those shares are multiplied together, then converted into a headcount and a 1-10 score. Height and BMI use the measured percentile tables from the CDC’s NHANES survey, so the height share for “6’0″ and up” comes straight from the published distribution rather than a guess. This version uses US data only, so results for the UK, Canada, Australia and Europe will differ.

| Education (ages 25+) | US Census Bureau, Educational Attainment in the United States: 2024. Bachelor’s or higher: 37.1% of men, 40.1% of women. Graduate degree shares are calculated from the Census counts. |

Frequently asked questions
Is the female delusion calculator accurate?
It is a statistical estimate, not a prediction. Height, BMI and education come from official surveys, but the calculator assumes your filters are independent. In reality, height and income are slightly correlated, so the true pool can be a bit different.
Has the female delusion calculator been debunked?
It is a simplification, not a scientific study. Critics point out that it ignores personality, attraction and compatibility, and that it assumes independent filters. Use it as a reality check on how selective your filters are, not as a verdict on anyone.
Can men use it? Is there a female delusion calculator for men?
Yes. Choose “Male” in the first field and the calculator checks your standards against US women instead. It works as a male and female delusion calculator in one tool.
What does the delusion score mean?
A low score (1-3) means a large share of people match. 4-5 is selective but common. 6-7 means your ideal partner is rare, and 8-10 means well under 1 in 1,000 people match all your filters.
Does it work for the UK, Europe or worldwide?
Not yet. It uses US statistics only. Searches like “female delusion calculator UK” will give a US-based estimate here.
